"Scan Your Garden" (Introductory session) "Scan Your Garden" (Self-paced Study)
Read "All About Scanners" before class begins so that you have set up and tested your scanning studio and are ready to go when class begins. Week 1 and Week 2 have additional material that wouldn't fit in the tutorial. The images in the actual tutorials are not as large or as sharp as they can be, so I've made them as large as possible in these additional files. I strongly recommend that you print all the tutorial pages on matte photo paper- the kind that is coated for sharp printing results, but isn't much heavier than regular printing paper. Staples has a new type "brochure & flyer paper" (matte white, double sided) that works well. Put all the pages in a binder for future reference.
Please have you scanning studio set up and ready to go before downloading the Week 1 .pdf
This class is for artists that have some experience with studio scanning and have secondary equipment to set up an outdoor scanning studio in your garden or on your deck. Under certain conditions your computer, laptop, or scanner can suffer unrepairable damage not only by direct exposure to the elements, but you can bang or drop your equipment in transport. Please be careful!
