Every summer I grow a bank of dahlias. They are about as easy to grow as weeds and the more the blooms are cut- the more they send out, and are one of the very last to be struck down by Jack Frost. I've tried every variety- you simply can't go wrong. While on the "easy" end of the scanning scale (very sturdy. standing up to hours of manhandling), just avoid too many folded under petals. Some "dinnerplate" varieties are so large that they don't fit on a standard scanner platen. Dahlias are included in many bouquets in the other galleries...so go look for them!
