"Beauty Berry Medley" October 2008
This jumble of ruddy-blue hydrangeas with the striking violet beauty berry began quite fresh...I left them on the scanner for a couple of days. The foliage curled and shriveled, but the hues remained vibrant so I filled in a few more leaves and made a few more scans. Hydrangea go through more color changes than any other blooms. I like the way there were just a couple of true-blue petals leftover from summer while the rest of the "mop" had changed to burgundy and green.
