"All the Blues Fit to Print"
plein air, fall 2007

Although I've enhanced this outdoor scan to look more painterly by adding a faux watercolor paper border- it is actually minimally "Photoshopped". The capture has very delicate, translucent pastel hues created by the plein air backlighting and some tricky tinkering of the values in-scanner! I had a very stately plot of monkshood for nearly ten years- until this summer when something destroyed them. Luckily, last year I scanned them extensively- with firey maple leaves and monarchs. Here I've included the waning morning glory and blue sage. A single imprinting has been made on extra heavyweight hot-press watercolor stock.
The painted area measures approx. 18 1/2" x 25" with more than 2" of border on all sides.
Currently unframed.
  Price upon request.
